Holzman talks about her father, Henry Kleinberg, coming to eastern Washington from Poland in 1880. She tells that he set up a clothing store in Ellensburg, then later went into the hay and feed business. Holzman describes her girlhood in Ellensburg, where the Kleinbergs were one of only two Jewish families and there was little exposure to Jewish culture. She relates that the family moved to Seattle in 1917 and talks briefly about business activities. She also describes the homes the family lived in and her own social life.
